Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

What are the differences in materials between the premade grillz and the custom fitted grillz?

All of our premade grillz are made from a base of either high quality stainless steel or jeweler's brass and plated with genuine gold. Our exclusive premium line of solid style stainless steel grills feature 18k IP gold plating (ion plating) which uses cutting edge gold plating technology. Because these grills are gold plated and not made from solid gold, we are able to sell them at a fraction of the price of real grillz while still offering the same look as the real deal.

Our Custom Fitted Grillz on the other hand, are made from either solid .925 sterling silver, 10K gold, 14K gold, or 18K gold. These grillz are the real deal and are made custom to each person based off the impression of your teeth from the molding kit. Because these grillz are custom made, there is the freedom to choose from the different materials we offer, such as the solid yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, or .925 sterling silver. These grillz can also be iced out or made with different designs for that truly custom look.

How long do the grillz last?

Because our premium solid style premade grillz are made from a base of stainless steel and plated utilizing the ion plating process, they will last a long time. Our premium cluster grillz however, are made from a base of brass, but we also utilize the ion plating process for the same long lasting plating.

The non premium premades are typically made using a base of jeweler's brass and a heavy gold plating. The gold plating usually lasts for years, but it is highly dependent on the frequency of usage and how it is cleaned and taken care of.

The custom sets on the other hand are made from solid yellow gold, solid white gold, solid rose gold or sterling silver, so you can be sure that the grillz will never fade. They will last a lifetime as long as you clean and take care of the grillz as you would with any other jewelry.

For gold plated custom-fit grillz, the plating typically lasts a few years, but the life of the plating on each set will vary based on a number of factors such as how it is cleaned and maintained, as well as how often it is worn.

In order to get the most out of your grillz, we recommend you do not eat, drink, or smoke with them in. This will help the grillz last longer because they are not exposed to harmful chemicals, fluids and heat that may damage them.

How do your grillz work? Are they removable? Do you need to get a mold done from the dentist?

Our premade grillz include a special silicone fitting bar that you use to fit the grillz to your teeth. The process typically takes about 5 minutes and you only need to do the fitting process once. You can view our instructions at our “How They Work” page here. After you fit the grillz using the silicone fitting bar, you'll be able to take them off and wear them at any time. The silicone bar will keep the shape of your teeth. No dentist or molds are required for the premades.

Our custom fitted grillz are also removable. Although the process takes longer, it allows us to make the custom grillz fit the impression of your teeth so you are guaranteed the perfect look and fit of the grillz. With these grillz, we offer a free molding kit with your order so you can take the impression of your teeth at home. If you wish, you can go to a dentist and have them do a professional impression of your teeth instead.

We send a free pair of mold kits with your purchase in order to save our customers money from a visit to the dentist and the markups that they add onto the total price when you visit them to get an impression. If you have any questions about the process, you can view the impression process here.

Can you get a grill if you have a gap?

Yes, you can get a grill even if you have a gap between your teeth. Depending on the size of the gap, there are different options available such as making the teeth a bit larger, adding a filler, or making them as separate pieces.

Do you need straight teeth to get a grill?

We can work with most people who have crooked teeth. The grillz are typically based on an impression of your teeth and will be made based off that. If you would like to have the teeth straightened, please contact us to see if we can work with you.

Can you get a grill with missing teeth?

We've done over a thousand grillz for people with missing teeth. As long as the teeth on either side of the gap are healthy and strong enough to support the grill, we should be able to make you a grill. As each person’s mouth is unique, please contact us to see if we can work with your specific case.
